Outside 45 Junior Cycling Program

Now in its 3rd year, our mountain biking and mindfulness program continues to grow. The program is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders of all skill levels and is based on a challenge-by-choice philosophy. Outside 45 participants and leaders strive to develop balance on the bike, within ourselves, and with each other.

During our eight meetings we will ride many of the area's best trails, hone our riding skills, and learn basic maintenance. Additionally, our mindfulness exercises and community building activities will help us to be our best selves individually and as a group. At the end of the program we will have gained valuable skills to maintain our physical and mental health.

For summer 2019 we will be offering two different levels to serve a wide range of riders. Both programs are open to new and returning students. Each program will have 16 openings and meet for 8 sessions. This year both programs will ride on Tuesday nights at the same location with a staggered start time. Continue to the program specific pages to learn which one best fits your child.

The most exciting addition for this year is the opportunity to go on an overnight bikepacking trip, July 13th and 14th. During this trip students will learn the joy of self-powered adventure and camping skills. We have 12 spots available on this expedition, with priority given to returning students. Follow the link at the bottom to learn more about this trip.
